Ep. 57: A West Coast Sense of Direction with Christopher (Pt. 2)
Thursday Jul 27, 2023
Thursday Jul 27, 2023
In Part 2 of Tofu’s hosting debut we’re revealing small and unimportant things we’re really good at in Alternative Segments. From being able to identify the ripeness of a mango with only a glance to having a great sense of direction but only on the West coast, we’ll impress the toe socks right off you with our mediocre superpowers.
Then, you better hide those job applications, because we’re sharing juicy workplace Pizza Secrets that we still don’t regret, although maybe we should.
No matter where you fall on the Lily-to-Grace spectrum of good employees, there’s a little bit of something for everyone in this final part of our special guest-hosted episode with Christopher.

Ep. 56: Laughing Through the Pain with Christopher (Pt. 1)
Friday Jul 14, 2023
Friday Jul 14, 2023
He’s back! Christopher’s back! That’s right, your favorite bouncing baby boy is back in the pod loft and this time he’s taking over as co-host while Kristin galivants about Spain.
In this special episode that’s graciously sponsored by Netflix* we’re looking at the psychological allure behind reality TV in This is Who I Am Now, dissociating during some silly little Quirks that are actually traumas, and confronting our autistic rigidity by trying to convince ourselves that it’s okay for people to do things differently than how we would’ve done them (it’s not going well).
Plus, Christopher pulls little Winston Bishop pranks that affect no one and he provides a much-needed update to our video games Hobby Collectors, during which he’ll help you find the best video games for learning, problem-solving, and/or escaping your reality.
*this episode is absolutely not sponsored by Netflix

Ep. 55: A Good Ol’ Fashioned Knuck Suck
Thursday Jul 06, 2023
Thursday Jul 06, 2023
Calling all knuck suckers, finger gnawers, and frickin’ Michael Jackson twirlers: today’s the day we proudly stand united, for we have kept our strange stims hidden under a bushel for far too long and it's time we let those babies shine, social consequences be damned.
In this wacky Segs Only: Autism Edition episode we’re spending Hobby Collectors looking at the differences between ADHD hyperfixations and ASD special interests and sharing how they each play out in our lives.
We’re also officially rejecting hard pant culture in I’m So Quirky, struggling to flirt in Pizza Secrets, and overthinking a public twirl in a bonus Secret that will have you cringe-laughing along in socially anxious solidarity.

Bagel Bite #18: The ‘Bewitched to Price is Right’ Pipeline
Thursday Jun 29, 2023
Thursday Jun 29, 2023
After that last autistic infodump of an episode, it’s time to cleanse the brain palates with a saucy little Bagel Bite fresh from the proverbial toaster oven.
Kristin is back from her big trip to Spain and she’s ready to share all the detalles. She provides her hot-take Spanish Observations and we chat about the challenges of traveling through a foreign country when you don’t know any of the social scripts.
Plus, Grace loses herself in the monotony of crochet, Kristin uses her grubs to make local crow friends, and we both unleash our verbal stim brainworms onto the masses in the hopes that they will wiggle into your own brainholes and live on in there for years to come–now THAT’S the power of podcasting.

Ep. 54: Autism Pt. 1–Brave in Our Slippers
Thursday Jun 22, 2023
Thursday Jun 22, 2023
Start fiddling your fidgets and slip into your softest soft pants (but not the wrong kind of soft–looking at you, faux sherpa) because this episode we’re finally starting our series on autism and revealing that–surprise, surprise–we both have it *insert mouth horns*
For those of you sarcastically doing a shocked Macaulay Culkin face right now, get ready for some sweet vindication as we explore our newly embraced autistic traits, which, in retrospect have always very much been there (you are allowed one ‘I told you so’ each, use it wisely).
We’re also covering the validity of self-diagnosis, the barriers to being identified when you aren’t a little white boy who loves trains, the DSM-5’s diagnostic criteria for ASD and everything we hate about it, and whatever else we can cram in along the way.

Ep. 53: Dyslexia Pt. 2–Anti-Fluffery
Thursday Jun 08, 2023
Thursday Jun 08, 2023
If you didn’t think we had enough new information to warrant an entire part 2 on dyslexia, well, you’d be right, because despite the title, this episode is filled with quite a bit of fluffery, with some facts about dyslexia sprinkled in along the way.
In part 2, Kristin educates us about the similarities and differences between dyslexia and ADHD, the real-world implications of having both, and why it’s important to know that you’re dyslexic, even if you can’t go back in a time machine and re-learn how to read.
Plus, Grace teaches you how to clean your weighted blankets, Kristin gets swept up in a Moxie parade, we chat about our current tv show, book, and podcast obsessions, and we finally give the people what they want with some always-popular red hot dog talk.

Ep. 52: Dyslexia Pt. 1–An Open Dyslexic
Thursday May 25, 2023
Thursday May 25, 2023
You know how the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers morph into that one big guy? That’s Kristin, only instead of being made up of a bunch of smaller guys she’s made from a menagerie of disorders, and it’s time for another one to officially morph into the mix.
This episode Kristin gives an overview of what dyslexia is and explores her own relationship with this often-missed diagnosis. We get into why dyslexia happens in the brain, how it impacts reading and spelling, some helpful strategies and accommodations, and we work through the confusing feelings that come with the realization that you were never dumb, you were just struggling with an untreated learning disorder.
If you’re not convinced you know how to read, you just memorized a lot of words, come join us for an eye-opening look into dyslexia that just may revolutionize everything you know about yourself along the way.

Ep. 51: Secret Chud With Ianpal (Pt. 2)
Thursday May 11, 2023
Thursday May 11, 2023
Now that your homemade cutting boards are sanded, oiled, and chock-full full of nails, it’s time to get downright silly with some more segs. In a new Alternative Segment, Things We’re Unreasonably Confident About, Grace requires a whole team of people to follow through on plans, Kristin is a confident reader but she shouldn’t be, and Ian has the boldness of a seasoned chef with none of the skills to back it up.
Then, look out! Because this horse train is clomp-chugging full steam ahead toward the station, but not before a stop at the ol’ pizza shop, where Ian shares a real chud of a Pizza Secret that perfectly showcases his ADHD.
Come giggle along with your favorite trio in this short but substantial Part 2 of our conversation with Ianpal.

Ep. 50: Glue It Up! With Ianpal (Pt. 1)
Thursday May 04, 2023
Thursday May 04, 2023
Man, that two-week break sure felt long. But not to fret, because we’re back and we’re stronger than ever baby, and what better way to break our prolonged fast than with a special 50th episode featuring an equally-as-special returning guest?
In this quinquagenarian of podcast episodes Grace’s husband Ian steps back into the podloft to share Lil’ Accomplishments, Quirks, and to teach us how to make cutting boards, an easy beginner carpentry project that almost always comes out looking good unless you’re Kristin. And if making cutting boards isn’t your jam, don’t worry, because we get sidetracked so many times that there's a little bit of something for everyone.

Bagel Bite #17: The Janitor’s Book Club
Friday Mar 31, 2023
Friday Mar 31, 2023
We’re gearing up for a two-week April break from the podcast to give our weary brains a rest, but before we go we wanted to give you a big meaty bite to remember us by.
In this dense Bagel Bite we’re making much-needed public apologies to some, starting new beef with others, and sharing wildly uncomfortable Pizza Secrets that you’ll wish we didn’t.
Come laugh and cringe and Tina Belcher groan along with us in this episode for the road that may not be what you asked for, but is certainly what you got.
