Bagel Bite #16: Carpet Remnants
Thursday Mar 23, 2023
Thursday Mar 23, 2023
All the bathtub gin left us a little queasy last week (we really should’ve cleaned that tub first), but once the barfing cleared we inexplicably found ourselves thirsting for more. That’s why, this week, we’re quenching our thirst with an all-aperitif meal of listener write-ins.
In this liquid Bagel Bite we’re raising an Aperol Spritz to some Lil’ ‘Plishes, toasting Caparis to a head-bonking Pizza Secret, and rolling up a fatty of gratitude for our listeners who are keeping this horse train clip-clomping and chug-a-lugging along its weird, winding tracks.

Ep. 49: Bathtub Gin Baby
Friday Mar 17, 2023
Friday Mar 17, 2023
Drain your bathing tubs but no need to clean them, because this episode we’re making bathtub gin and it just wouldn’t be the same without that secret flavor: family.
In Hobby Collectors Kristin teaches us all about her newfound lifestyle as an old-timey moonshiner, including some captivating gin hobby history, what materials you need to get started, and why she thinks it’s a great hobby for ADHDers. Unless you’re a child, in which case disregard that, alcohol sucks, stay in school.
Plus, Grace outwits, outplays, and outlasts a childhood friend in a mean girl Pizza Secret, Kristin shushes someone and becomes the very person she hates the most in I’m So Quirky, and we both share controversial opinions that you’re just mad about because you know we’re right in our new Alternative Segment, You’re Just Mad Because I’m Right.

Ep. 48: Anxiety Pt. 2–ADHD Enters the Mix
Thursday Mar 09, 2023
Thursday Mar 09, 2023
In Part 1 we set the anxiety stage, and now, we’re ready to dazzle you as we flawlessly dance across it.
With Kristin playing herself in the lead role of ‘Most Anxious ADHDer Alive’ and Grace fucking around in the background, we’ll take you on a whimsical ear journey through the complicated one-two step of anxiety and ADHD. Metaphorically look uponst us as we Fosse dance into the comorbidity rates between ADHD and anxiety, Monster Mash through common anxiety-inducers for ADHDers, and pop, lock, and drop it all the way into treatment options and beyond.
Like a moth to the hair, this episode will both frighten and delight you, so make sure you get your ticket for what may not be the most educational anxiety episode out there, but you’ll learn something.

Bagel Bite #15: My Inner Kevin
Thursday Mar 02, 2023
Thursday Mar 02, 2023
Put your hats on and then prepare for them to be blown off, because Grace finally read her physical copy of ADDitude magazine, and now, you’re all gonna hear about it. In this substantial Bagel Bite, we’re discussing an article about the cognitive and behavioral benefits of positive parenting for ADHD children and the importance of praise and positivity for all ADHDers, big or small.
Plus, Kristin organizes her paper lumps and gets down with the sickness of shame-based punishment, we name our collective ADHD “Kevin” (so congrats, your ADHD is now named Kevin), and we descend into yet another argument about putting pots and pans in the dishwasher, just to balance out the semi-legitimate journalism work–we wouldn’t want to get a reputation, after all.

Ep. 47: The Nervous System 101–An Umbrella Mobile Roadmap
Thursday Feb 23, 2023
Thursday Feb 23, 2023
The nervous system is a complicated and unknowable beast, responsible for communication between your body and brain and capable of sending you into an anxiety spiral at the drop of a hat just for funsies. Lucky for you, after both learning about the nervous system various times throughout our lives and retaining nothing, we’ve finally locked that knowledge down and we are here to bestow our hard-earned wisdom uponst you.
Using the traditional umbrella mobile teaching model, Grace takes you on a ride down the nervous system 101 and explains what it is, how it works, and why you should care about it. Meanwhile, Kristin does her very best to derail the conversation with a bunch of her penis talk and lobster facts, making this a true Maine podcast (because of the lobsters, not the penis stuff, GROW UP).

Bagel Bite #14: A Meal of ADHD Appetizers
Thursday Feb 16, 2023
Thursday Feb 16, 2023
Shimmy into those legwarmers and grab a microphone-shaped object, because this Bagel Bite we’re inspiring you to heal your nervous systems and face down your shame monsters by laughing like no one’s listening, by dancing like you’ve never been publicly mocked for dancing before, and by singing like you didn’t grow up in a house with a neurodivergent father who hated loud noises unless he was the one making them.
Then, we’re all over the place as we chat Lil’ ‘Plishes, Best and Worst of the Week, White Lotus, the importance of protecting the dwindling brown bat population, and more. Keep your hopes high but your expectations low as you make your way into this tasty little smorg of smorgs–that way, we just may pleasantly surprise you.

Ep. 46: Baby Dimensions
Thursday Feb 09, 2023
Thursday Feb 09, 2023
Well, we know we’re really gonna piss off the meadheads with this one, but hey, comedy is controversial, and we refuse to compromise on our craft, mild consequences be damned.
In this segs-only episode of what many are already calling 2023’s hottest pump-up podcast, we’re bashing on sweet wines (and rightly so) before getting into some controversial Quirks, gossiping about terrible ADHDers, getting silly with Pizza Secrets, and starting a brand-new Hobby Collectors hobby that we may not know much about just yet, but we can already tell we’re going to be amazing at it. And if we’re not, we’ll just quit.
Much like a bird in a mirror, this episode will have you feeling like you’re laughing and gabbing along with your two best friends, when in reality, you’re just laughing alone in the bathroom.

Ep. 45: Anxiety, Pt. 1–Scary Statistics
Thursday Jan 26, 2023
Thursday Jan 26, 2023
Snuggle into your jammies and don’t forget to plug in those nightlights, because this episode we’re coming to you live from a trundle bed to tell you a ghoulish bedtime tale about the most commonly (over)diagnosed mental disorder and Kristin’s lifeblood: generalized anxiety.
If you were hoping for a bunch of heated rants about the DSM-5 and how anxiety is meant to be a diagnosis of exclusion, you’re in luck, because we’re all fired up and clip-tromping full steam ahead, and nothing short of a stronger faster horse train is gonna stop this horse train, so don’t even try. Also, Grace shares a spite-fueled Lil’ Accomplishment, Kristin doesn’t trust the mail, we bicker about socks despite sharing the same Sock Values, and more.
At some point we promise we’ll take the time to actually finish a series that we already started, but until that day comes we must insist that you enjoy yet another Part 1 of a shiny new series all about anxiety.

Bagel Bite #13: A Peek Behind the ADHD Curtain
Thursday Jan 12, 2023
Thursday Jan 12, 2023
Pack your bags at the last minute and don’t forget to set 1,000 alarms, because this episode we’re taking to the skies and we can’t have anyone falling behind, you know how important punctuality is to us.
Kristin may have a case of bad brain, but that doesn’t stop her from giving an EGOT-worthy performance as she bravely shares her traveling tale in this tasty little nib; it’s a story of determination, of heroes, and of so much crying at the airport. Plus, we get uncut and unleashed as we talk backyard skiing, Peep-induced popularity, outside night games, Animal Capture, and more.
We ADHDers may fly through life by the seat of our soft pants, but we almost always pull it off in the end. Which is why, here at WOAF, we live and die by the infamous ADHDer’s creed: it doesn’t matter how the sausage gets made, just as long as you enjoy sucking it down your gullet.

Ep. 44: 2023, The Year of Canned Soup
Friday Dec 30, 2022
Friday Dec 30, 2022
The new year always hits a little different when you have ADHD and can’t feel the passing of time, but we don’t need to feel time to know in our hearts and in our butts that 2023 is going to be the biggest year ever for WOAF and friends. In this special New Year’s episode, we’re looking back at our accomplishments and failures from the past year, reflecting on Who We Are Now, and setting reasonable, ADHD-friendly goals for the year ahead.
Time may be a social construct, but our annual tradition of not developing basic self-care routines is all too real. So come join us as we charge this horse train full steam ahead into 2023 with nothing but a twinkle in our eyes and a hope in our hearts that this year it’ll be different, everything will change–no way can this end in disappointment.
